King Georges Jubilee Holiday Camp and Hostel, Hawthorn Towers

This was an interesting social experiment in aid of the youth of England at King George's Jubilee Holiday Camp at Hawthorn Tower. The Trust acquired the lease of Hawthorn Tower, a large country house standing in 47 acres of its own grounds with a private bathing beach. Accommodation was provided in bell tents for 350 boys and was opened on June 20th and expected to receive 3,000 boys in weekly relays.
